The venue
CATALINA is a stunning, modern, minimalist restaurant. With a clean palette of whites, marble, polished timber, and luxurious touches like leather and linen, our venue offers an elegant and refined atmosphere perfect for weddings. Bridal couples and guests enjoy million-dollar harbour views and receive the ‘essential Sydney’ experience. Reception options are limitless—from a chic summer cocktail soirée with flowing mojitos and an oyster bar, to a formal black-tie winter event by the fire, complete with candlelight, fine dining, and a baby grand piano.
The Location
CATALINA offers breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour, Rose Bay, Shark Island, and Point Piper through floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that span the length of the dining room. The restaurant, facing north, is the perfect spot to witness fantastic sunsets, with evening summer and winter lunch receptions offering the chance to begin or end your special day with a spectacular view. The bridal couple and guests can arrive via private vessel or water taxi, alighting at Rose Bay Ferry Wharf for a memorable start to the reception. Pre-lunch or dinner drinks, along with canapés and oysters, are served on the balcony, providing a delightful culinary prelude to the main event.
CEREMONIES
Say “I do” with Sydney Harbour as your backdrop. CATALINA offers on-site wedding ceremonies on our stunning waterfront balcony, complimentary for couples with exclusive venue hire. In the event of wet weather, our experienced events team will work closely with your suppliers to seamlessly move the ceremony indoors, ensuring a beautiful and stress-free Plan B.
Alternatively, ceremonies can also be held nearby in picturesque Lyne Park, just a short stroll away, with bookings arranged through Woollahra Council.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
CATALINA has earned consistent recognition, including One Chef’s Hat in the SMH Good Food Guide, offering exceptional food and service honed over 30 years of hosting weddings and events. The menu features contemporary Australian cuisine with Mediterranean flavours and is complemented by one of the best wine lists in the country. Options include a formal sit-down meal, a ‘travelling entrée’ with main course and dessert, or a cocktail reception to suit your style.
We offer complimentary lunchtime tastings, during which you can sample a selection of dishes from our menu and decide exactly what you would like to have for your reception. Wine tasting is also available at the same time, charged on the day.

CATALINA can accommodate up to 140 people with a dancefloor and DJ for a seated event. If you are wanting a large band and more flexibility with floor plans we suggest capping your numbers at 120 people.
CATALINA can accommodate up to 300 people for a cocktail style event.

No, CATALINA does not charge any ‘room hire’ fee. The minimum spend requirement can absorb ALL food and beverage as well as crew meals and dance floor hire.

Yes, CATALINA offers menu tastings for up to 4 people, Monday – Thursday, LUNCH ONLY, 4-12 weeks out from your confirmed wedding date. The food component is complimentary.
At the tasting, wines are recommended by our Sommelier according to your budget and individual taste.
Beverages are charged on consumption and the bill must be settled on the day of the tasting, it cannot be added to the bill on the day of your event.
All your requirements, details, timings, table plans etc. are discussed in detail and finalised with your co-ordinator on the day of the tasting.
CATALINA does not offer menu tastings for cocktail parties.

Yes, CATALINA has a list of preferred suppliers. You are, however, welcome to use any suppliers you wish.

Suppliers can access CATALINA for bump in from 9am for a lunch event or 5pm for a dinner event. Bump out commences from guest departure time – 5pm for a lunch event, 12am for a dinner event. ALL items, furniture, staging and theming must be removed at the conclusion of your event, not the following day.

Yes, CATALINA does offer ceremonies on site. We can offer complimentary use of Catalina’s balcony for your ceremony (weather dependent).
Ceremonies at Catalina are available for wedding bookings who have exclusive use of the restaurant. Your ceremony may commence from your contracted guest arrival time. In the unfortunate event of inclement weather Catalina’s event manager will liaise with your suppliers and inform them the best suitable area within the dining room to action Plan B.
